This Sword you are watching has a very impressive name: "Zhao Dan" (translated as sword of courage)
This particular type of sword had been used by Chinese rebel warriors who shared same belief and vision, and sometimes it served as "execution sword" for discipline purpose.
 Due to its fierce nature and heavy duty utility, this type of sword sometimes as also known as "Ghost Head Sword" and/or "thick back chopping sword"
This solid blade is hand forged with high quality carbon steel, differentially heat treated and hand sharpened. The unique black forging marks on blade are the nature outcome from forging process during fire to present its unique vintage feeling.
The tapering broad head of this blade not only improves the chopping balance but also made for a more durable thrusting point. A punched aperture (called "sword eye" or "air aperture") near the tip is for the purpose of hanging and preventing blade stuck in during the sword fight.
Hang Guard and all the fittings are made from aged solid brass; sheath and handle are made from dark Chinese padauk wood with beautiful nature wood grain.
The full tang extends into a ring and has been pinned into the Chinese padauk wood handle for extra security then tightly wrapped with black cloth for comfortable handling. As well as being suitably shaped for striking purposes, the ring was used to hang the sword and helped to balance it.
This nice sword still has a great deal of cultural significance till this day. It has awesome balance for martial arts training and cutting practice, perfect as a gift and highly collectable.
